People of the Second Chance has commissioned a comprehensive process and assessment that will aide individuals and organizations. Utilizing top professionals in the areas of science, psychology and faith, phase 1 of this tool will release in 2012.
Our process will allow individuals to move from being trapped in pain, loss and despair into the freedom of a second chance. This pathway will radically alter the person’s current trajectory and provide the tools necessary to develop a life of wellness.
THE 5 LIFEMARKS
Our mission is to impact how we live and interact with each other and produce real life change. Our work seeks to unleash and expand these traits in our daily life. The five lifemarks below identify someone who has committed themselves to radical grace living. Each day we are striving to grow in these character traits.
EMPATHY
You have a heartfelt connection to the pain and struggle of others. You bring comfort and not judgment. You are able to see the world as others see it. You understand another person’s feelings and are an effective heart handler. You realize as you give to others you give to yourself.
TENACITY
You are steadfast and resilient when you feel like giving up on yourself and others. You stay the course and demonstrate grit and toughness even when it is difficult. Second chances can be a bumpy road that requires the determination to never give up. You are strong and powerful. You are wise enough to know that breakthrough is often just one more small step away.
COURAGE
You are willing to take risks and operate out of your personal comfort zone. The acts of grace and forgiveness require bravery to surrender our rights to get even. Courage is required to live honestly in our story and transparently have “everything in the light.” Fear is often a part of our journey but we refuse to allow it to control or dictate our decisions.
PURPOSE
You live every moment and savor your existence knowing that your life impacts the world for the good. With purpose you can persevere. You set big goals and work hard to achieve them. Life is a gift from God so work hard to make the most of it. Your story doesn’t end in the valley and you will not live as a powerless victim.
HOPE
You embrace a hope that is a combination of optimism and realism. You comprehend that with failure comes loss but also is the seed for something better. Hope moves us to a place where healing can occur and has clear spiritual, psychological and physical benefits. Hope lifts the human spirit and believes in a better tomorrow.
